Coaching

Understanding your inner story

Recently I trained at Bristol Business School as an executive coach. I see coaching as another way of giving people a voice, enabling them to work out what kind of life they want to lead, both at work and outside, and then helping them fulfill these ambitions.

I am as happy coaching an individual about their life choices as an executive about how to improve their performance and that of their organisation, believing that both are about individuals making the most of their talents and passions.

My unusual combination of journalism and senior leadership gives me a wide range of skills to bring to the role of coach including the ability to ask revealing questions and to listen actively, alongside an understanding of how leaders create high performing teams and shape organisations.

I am particularly fascinated by the interplay between the rational and emotional in decision making, and in using arts based methods in my coaching practice to help individuals and organisations understand their aspirations and themselves.
